Online therapy is similar to a traditional form of therapy, except it is conducted via a secure HIPAA compliant video platform rather than in person. It offers people who are unable or prefer not to travel to the therapist’s office the opportunity to incorporate therapy into their schedules at their convenience.
Making an appointment for online therapy is easy. You can follow the button on the “Make an Appointment” page on my website or by contacting me via phone or email.
Your information is 100% protected. All online sessions are conducted via a secure HIPAA compliant platform.
After you make your first appointment, whether using the online scheduling option, or contacting me directly, you will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire and to sign some documents electronically. These documents include your consent for treatment, privacy statements, and insurance information. They will be stored in your secure patient portal. Prior to each session you will receive a link via email that you will follow to access the HIPAA compliant video platform. You will need to click on the link to connect to your session. If using your phone , you will be asked to download the Simple Practice Telehealth Application and will then access your session from there.
Although most insurance plans that cover in-person therapy will also cover telehealth, it is recommended that you check your coverage with your insurance plan.
